Most of my clients have tried a form of weight loss before they meet me. Generally, the comments I usually get are along the lines of, “I lost weight(10, 20, 30 pounds, something in that range) but I gained it back and extra.” The client looks ashamed or embarrassed. Some even defeated. This is the worst part of my job. From a health and wellness perspective, failure is not an option. There is too much riding on the game. Now we move forward.

Very few people have the time or desire to spend hours in the gym. I know this. It’s part of the challenge when I work with a new client. Finding the connection to fitness in someone isn’t easy. There are a lot, and I do mean a lot of people who have negative feelings toward regimented exercise. I actually had one women vomit before we ever started doing any fitness just from shear nerves.

I’ve been in the fitness industry a while. During this time, I have been fortunate enough to have clients during all phases of their wellness journey and while no two clients are the same, the single most important thing that all my clients work on is not fitness, routines or nutrition. The single most important thing my clients work on is the clients own perception of their wellness vision. Wellness visions are an important tool I learned and adapted through Wellcoaches training. The Wellness Vision is the clients own perception, own thoughts and words of what they believe they want to achieve. What they will achieve. The vision is designed to be positive, realistic, specific and written. It is a very very powerful tool.
